What is XIIDRA used for?

XIIDRA is a prescription eye drop used to treat dry eye disease.

Dry eye happens when your eyes:

  • Do not make enough tears, or
  • Produce poor-quality tears

This can cause symptoms like burning, irritation, or a gritty feeling in the eyes.

How does XIIDRA work?

XIIDRA helps reduce inflammation (swelling) in the eyes.

It blocks certain proteins that contribute to irritation in dry eye disease, helping improve symptoms over time.

How to use XIIDRA

  • Use 1 drop in each eye, twice daily (morning and evening, about 12 hours apart)
  • Wash your hands before use
  • Remove contact lenses before applying drops
  • You can reinsert lenses after 15 minutes

Important tips:

  • Each container is single-use only
  • Use it for both eyes, then throw it away
  • Do not touch the tip of the container to your eye

How quickly does it work?

Some patients notice improvement in symptoms as early as 2 weeks, but continue using it daily for best results.
