NURTEC ODT is a medication used to treat migraine attacks in adults. It is a tablet that dissolves in your mouth and contains the active ingredient rimegepant, which helps to reduce the activity of a substance in the body called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) that causes migraine attacks.


HOW TO TAKE NURTEC ODT


When to take it: Take NURTEC ODT when you have a migraine attack. You can take it with or without food.


How to take it

  1. Use dry hands to peel back the foil covering of one blister pack.
  2. Gently remove the tablet and place it on or under your tongue.
  3. The tablet will dissolve and can be swallowed without water.

DOSAGE

  • The usual dose is one tablet (75 mg) once a day as needed.
  • Do not take more than one tablet in a 24-hour period.

  • WHO SHOULD AVOID NURTEC?

    Do not use NURTEC ODT if you are allergic to rimegepant or any other ingredients in the tablet.


    PRECAUTIONS

    Before taking NURTEC ODT, tell your healthcare provider if you:

  • Have liver or kidney problems.
  • Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
  • Are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed.

  • POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

  • Most common side effect is nausea.
  • Serious allergic reactions can occur, which may cause shortness of breath, rash, and swelling. If you experience any severe side effects, stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention.

  • INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEDICATIONS


    NURTEC ODT may interact with other medicines. Inform your healthcare provider if you are taking:

  • Medications for fungal or bacterial infections (e.g., itraconazole, clarithromycin)
  • Medications for HIV (e.g., ritonavir, efavirenz)
  • Medications for high blood pressure (e.g., bosentan, diltiazem, quinidine, verapamil)
  • Herbal remedies (e.g., St. John’s wort)
  • Medications for epilepsy (e.g., phenobarbital)
  • Medications for tuberculosis (e.g., rifampicin)
  • Medications for narcolepsy (e.g., modafinil)
  • Grapefruit juice

  • STORAGE

    Store NURTEC ODT in the original blister pack at room temperature.

    Keep out of reach and sight of children.
