What is IMVEXXY?
IMVEXXY is a vaginal insert used to treat moderate to severe pain during sex (dyspareunia) in postmenopausal women. This pain is a symptom of vaginal and vulvar atrophy, a condition caused by reduced estrogen levels after menopause.
How Does IMVEXXY Work?
IMVEXXY contains estradiol, a form of estrogen. It helps to reduce vaginal dryness and discomfort by providing estrogen directly to the vaginal tissues.
How to Use IMVEXXY
- Dosage:
- Initial Dose (First 2 Weeks): Insert one IMVEXXY vaginal insert into your vagina once a day at the same time each day.
- Maintenance Dose: After the first 2 weeks, insert one IMVEXXY vaginal insert into your vagina twice a week (e.g., Monday and Thursday).
- Administration:
- Wash and dry your hands.
- Remove one insert from the blister pack by pushing it through the foil.
- Hold the insert with the larger end between your fingers.
- Insert the smaller end about two inches into your vagina using your finger.
What to Do if You Miss a Dose
