Mounjaro KwikPen Extra Dose | DrugsbyCanada

In this video, we demonstrate the off-label method of extracting an additional dose of Mounjaro from a KwikPen.

The Mounjaro KwikPen is slightly overfilled, and after using it for the standard four doses, there is often some medication left in the pen. At this point, the dial will no longer allow a fifth dose to be administered as usual, so a small insulin syringe is needed to access the remaining medication.

We’re using a sample pen that has already delivered four doses and is now ready for the fifth to be drawn manually.

After sanitizing your hands, swab the tip of the pen with an alcohol pad. Next, draw 0.6 mL of air into the syringe, inject that air into the pen, and then withdraw 0.6 mL of medication. Administer the dose as you would a standard injection.
