Calquence® (Acalabrutinib) - Canada Product Information

What is Calquence®?

Calquence® is a medication containing the active ingredient acalabrutinib. It is used to treat certain types of blood cancers, including:

  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): Used alone or in combination with other medications for patients who have not been treated before or who have already received treatment.
  • Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL): For patients who have already received at least one treatment.

How Does Calquence® Work?

Calquence® works by blocking a protein in cancer cells called BTK (Bruton's tyrosine kinase). This protein is important for the survival and growth of these cancer cells. By blocking BTK, Calquence® helps to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells.
