What is Inspiolto Respimat?
Inspiolto Respimat is a medication used to help people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes conditions like chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It helps to relax and open the airways in your lungs, making it easier to breathe.
What's in Inspiolto Respimat?
It contains two active ingredients:
- Tiotropium: A long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) that helps to relax muscles around the airways.
- Olodaterol: A long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that also helps to open the airways by relaxing muscles.
How do I use the Inspiolto Respimat inhaler?
- Prepare the inhaler:
- Insert the cartridge into the inhaler.
- Prime the inhaler by actuating it towards the ground until you see a mist, then repeat three more times. It's now ready for use.
- Daily Use:
- Use the inhaler once daily, at the same time each day.
- Take two puffs (actuations) for a full dose.
- If not used for a while:
- If not used for more than 7 days, actuate the inhaler once to prepare it.
- If not used for more than 21 days, repeat the priming process as described above.
Who can use Inspiolto Respimat?
- Adults with COPD: It's intended for the long-term maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in COPD.
- Elderly: No dosage adjustment is necessary for older adults.
- Not for children: It should not be used in patients under 18 years of age.
Who should not use Inspiolto Respimat?
- People who are allergic to tiotropium, olodaterol, or any of the ingredients in the inhaler.
