Farxiga is a medication used to help manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is to be used alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise.

HOW DOES FARXIGA WORK?
Farxiga works by helping your kidneys remove excess sugar from your body through urine, which helps lower blood sugar levels.

WHO CAN USE FARXIGA?
Farxiga is for adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not suitable for:
  • People with type 1 diabetes
  • Children under 18 years old
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women

  • HOW DO I TAKE FARXIGA?
  • Dosage: The usual dose is 5 mg or 10 mg once a day.
  • How to take it: Swallow the tablet with water, with or without food.
  • When to take it: Take it at the same time each day.

  • WHAT SHOULD I TELL MY DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING FARXIGA?
    Inform your doctor if you:
  • Have kidney or liver problems
  • Are on a low sodium diet
  • Have or have had bladder cancer
  • Are taking other medications, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements

  • POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

    Common side effects include:

  • Urinary tract infections
