FINACEA® (Azelaic Acid Gel 15%) - Canada Product Information

What is Finacea?

Finacea is a topical gel containing azelaic acid (15%). It is used to treat rosacea, a condition that causes redness, inflammation, and sometimes pimples on the face.

How Does Finacea Work?

Finacea works by reducing inflammation and killing bacteria on the skin, helping to improve the appearance of rosacea.

Who Should Not Use Finacea?

Do not use Finacea if you are allergic to azelaic acid, propylene glycol, or any other ingredients in the gel.

How to Use Finacea

  1. Clean Your Skin: Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat it dry with a soft towel.
  2. Apply the Gel: Apply a thin layer of Finacea (about 2.5 cm or 1 inch of gel) to the affected areas twice a day, in the morning and evening. Gently rub it into the skin.
  3. Avoid Sensitive Areas: Be careful to avoid contact with your eyes, mouth, and other sensitive areas. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
  4. Hands Clean: Wash your hands after applying the gel.

Tips While Using Finacea

  • Use mild skincare products and avoid abrasive or irritating cleansers.
  • Avoid spicy foods, hot drinks, and alcohol as they may worsen rosacea.
  • Non-medicated or non-irritating cosmetics can be used after the gel has dried.
  • If your skin becomes irritated, reduce the amount of gel or apply it less frequently. If irritation persists, stop using the gel and contact your doctor.

  • Possible Side Effects
