TRESIBA® is a type of insulin used to manage blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. It is an ultra-long-acting insulin that works for over 42 hours.
WHO CAN USE TRESIBA®?
HOW TO USE TRESIBA®:
Injection: Use a pre-filled pen to inject TRESIBA® under the skin (subcutaneously) in the thigh, upper arm, or abdomen. Rotate injection sites to avoid skin problems.
Dosage: Follow your healthcare provider’s instructions for dosing. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, ensuring there's at least 8 hours between doses.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
- Do not use TRESIBA® if:
- You are allergic to insulin degludec or any ingredients in the formulation.
- You are experiencing low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
- Monitoring: Regularly check your blood sugar levels as advised by your healthcare provider.
- Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar): Symptoms include shakiness, sweating, fast heartbeat, and confusion. Carry a sugar source like glucose tablets in case of low blood sugar.
- Storage: Store unopened pens in the refrigerator. Once opened, you can keep the pen at room temperature (not above 30°C) for up to 8 weeks.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
- Common: Low blood sugar, reactions at the injection site, weight gain.
- Serious: Severe allergic reactions, severe hypoglycemia leading to unconsciousness or seizures.

- Follow a healthy diet and exercise plan as advised by your healthcare provider.
- Always check the label and dosage before injecting to avoid medication errors.
- Do not mix TRESIBA® with other insulins.
