- Drink a lot of alcohol.
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Important Warnings
- Lactic Acidosis: A rare but serious condition that can occur due to metformin accumulation. Symptoms include feeling very weak, tired, or uncomfortable; unusual muscle pain; trouble breathing; stomach pain with nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; feeling cold, especially in your arms and legs; dizziness or lightheadedness; and slow or irregular heartbeat.
- Hypoglycemia: Low blood sugar can occur, especially if taken with insulin or a sulfonylurea. Signs include shakiness, sweating, fast heartbeat, and hunger.
- Kidney Function: Your doctor will check your kidneys before and during treatment with Janumet XR.
How to Take Janumet XR
- Dosage: Your doctor will decide the right dose based on your current medications and how well your blood sugar is controlled.
- Administration: Take Janumet XR once daily with your evening meal. Swallow the tablets whole; do not split, crush, or chew them.
Possible Side Effects
