Vraylar (Cariprazine) is a medication used to treat certain mental health conditions in adults. It comes in capsules with different strengths: 1.5 mg, 3 mg, 4.5 mg, and 6 mg.

WHAT IS VRAYLAR USED FOR?

1. Schizophrenia: Helps manage symptoms like hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thinking.
2. Bipolar I Disorder:
   • Bipolar Mania: Helps control symptoms of mania or mixed episodes (high energy, irritability).
   • Bipolar Depression: Helps manage depressive episodes (low mood, lack of energy).

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Do not use Vraylar if:

• You are allergic to cariprazine or any ingredients in the capsules.
• You are taking strong/moderate CYP3A4 inhibitors or inducers (consult your doctor about this).

Warnings:

• Elderly Patients with Dementia: Increased risk of death.
• Pregnancy: May harm an unborn baby. Use effective contraception during treatment and for 12 weeks after stopping Vraylar.
• Breastfeeding: Not recommended as it is unknown if Vraylar passes into breast milk.

HOW TO TAKE VRAYLAR

• Schizophrenia: Start with 1.5 mg once daily. Your doctor may adjust the dose up to a maximum of 6 mg daily based on your response.
• Bipolar Mania: Start with 1.5 mg once daily. The dose may be increased up to 6 mg daily.
• Bipolar : Start with 1.5 mg once daily. The dose can be increased to 3 mg daily if needed.

MISSED DOSE

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at once.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Common side effects:

• Restlessness, difficulty sitting still
• Extrapyramidal symptoms (uncontrolled movements)
• Nausea, vomiting
• Sleepiness, fatigue

Serious side effects (seek medical help immediately):

• Signs of an allergic reaction: rash, itching, swelling
• Severe dizziness, fainting
• High blood sugar symptoms: increased thirst/urination, confusion

MONITORING

Your doctor will monitor your health regularly while on Vraylar, including:

• Blood pressure
• Blood sugar levels
• Weight
• Eye health (if you experience vision changes)

STORAGE

Store Vraylar capsules at room temperature, away from moisture and heat.
