Dasatinib is a medication used to treat certain types of leukemia (a type of blood cancer). It helps stop the growth of cancer cells.
WHO SHOULD TAKE DASATINIB?
Dasatinib is for adults who have:- Newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) that is positive for the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph+).
- Chronic, accelerated, or blast phase CML that has not responded well to other treatments, including imatinib.
- Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) that is positive for the Philadelphia chromosome (Ph+).
HOW TO TAKE DASATINIB
Dose: Your doctor will prescribe the right dose for you. Common doses are 20 mg, 50 mg, 70 mg, 80 mg, and 100 mg tablets.
How to take: Take the tablet once a day, either in the morning or evening, with or without food.
Missed dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.
