HOW TO USE HUMALOG CARTRIDGES

1. Insert the Humalog cartridge into the insulin pen.
2. Attach a new needle to the pen.
3. Prime the pen by turning the dose knob to 2 units and pressing the button to remove any air.
4. Set the desired dose on the pen.
5. Clean the injection site on your belly, thigh, or upper arm with an alcohol swab.
6. Insert the needle into the injection site.
7. Press the dose button to inject the insulin.
8. Remove the needle and dispose of it safely in a sharps container.

WHEN TO USE HUMALOG

Inject within 15 minutes before a meal or right after eating.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Common: Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which can cause dizziness, sweating, shaking, or confusion.

Less Common: Redness or swelling at the injection site, rash, or itching.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU EXPERIENCE SIDE EFFECTS

For mild low blood sugar, eat or drink something sugary (like glass of fruit juice or candy).

For severe reactions, contact your doctor or go to the emergency room immediately.

STORAGE

Before first use, keep Humalog in the refrigerator.

After first use, store it at room temperature and use within 28 days.
