HOW DOES INVOKAMET WORK?

WHO SHOULD TAKE INVOKAMET?

Invokamet is for adults with type 2 diabetes who need better blood sugar control along with diet and exercise. Your doctor might prescribe Invokamet if you are not getting enough control from your current diabetes medicines.


DO NOT TAKE INVOKAMET IF YOU:

  • Are allergic to canagliflozin, metformin, or any other ingredients in the tablets.
  • Have severe kidney problems or are on dialysis.
  • Have metabolic acidosis or diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of ketones in your blood or urine).
  • Have type 1 diabetes.
  • Drink a lot of alcohol.
  • Have severe liver problems.

    • HOW TO TAKE INVOKAMET

  • Take Invokamet exactly as your doctor tells you.
  • Usually taken twice a day with meals to reduce stomach side effects.
  • Swallow the tablets whole with water.
  • Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets.

    • POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS


    Common side effects may include:

  • Diarrhea
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Stomach pain
  • Yeast infections in the genital area

    • Serious side effects can include:

  • Lactic acidosis (a build-up of lactic acid in the blood)
