  • Patients who need additional blood sugar control beyond diet and exercise
  • Patients who cannot use metformin due to contraindications or intolerance

  • How to take JANUVIA®?

  • Take one tablet by mouth once daily
  • You can take it with or without food
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions on dosage

  • Possible Side Effects

    Like all medicines, JANUVIA® can cause side effects. The most common side effects are:

    • Nasopharyngitis (cold-like symptoms)
    • Headache
    • Upper respiratory tract infection

    Some serious side effects include:

    • Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
    • Severe allergic reactions
    • Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) when used with insulin or sulfonylureas
