LUMIGAN RC (BIMATOPROST) - Canada Drug Information


Lumigan RC® is an eye drop used to lower high pressure inside the eye in adults with conditions such as open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.

HOW DOES LUMIGAN RC WORK?
Lumigan RC® works by helping the fluid in your eye drain better, which lowers the pressure inside the eye.

WHO SHOULD NOT USE Lumigan RC?

Do not use Lumigan RC® if you are allergic to bimatoprost or any other ingredients in the eye drop


HOW TO USE LUMIGAN RC
  1. Wash your hands before using the eye drops.
  2. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
  3. Hold the dropper above the eye and squeeze out one drop.
  4. Close your eye and gently press the inner corner of the eye for about one minute to prevent the drop from draining away.
  5. If you use contact lenses, remove them before applying the drops and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back in.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
  • Common side effects include: red eyes, itchy eyes, and increased growth of eyelashes.
  • You may also notice darkening of the skin around the eyes and changes in iris color (the colored part of your eye), which could be permanent.
  • If you experience severe eye irritation, pain, or changes in vision, contact your doctor immediately.

  • Inform your doctor if you have any eye infections, eye surgery, or other eye conditions.
  • If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before using Lumigan RC®.
  • Avoid allowing the dropper tip to touch any surfaces to prevent contamination.

    • STORAGE
  • Store Lumigan RC in its original container at room temperature (36- 77°F).
  • Keep it out of reach of children.
  • Discard any unused solution after completing the treatment.

    • SUPPLIED

    Lumigan RC from Canada is dispensed in sterile white opaque plastic ophthalmic bottles in the following sizes: 5 or 7.5 mL.
