WHO SHOULD USE OZEMPIC?

WHO SHOULD NOT USE OZEMPIC?

  • An allergy to semaglutide or any of the ingredients in Ozempic.
  • You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Stop Ozempic at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
  • You are breastfeeding.

 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

 

Ozempic Dosing Chart
Week Dose Instructions
1-4 0.25 mg weekly Start with 0.25 mg once a week. This is a starting dose to help your body adjust to the medication.
5-8 0.5 mg weekly Increase to 0.5 mg once a week. This is the usual maintenance dose.
9+ 1 mg weekly (if needed) If additional blood sugar control is needed, your doctor may increase the dose to 1 mg once a week.

 

Important Notes
  • Injection Day: Choose a specific day of the week for your injection. You can change the day as long as there are at least 2 days (48 hours) between doses.
  • Missed Dose: If you miss a dose and it's within 5 days of your scheduled day, take it as soon as possible. If more than 5 days have passed, skip the missed dose and take the next dose on your regular scheduled day.
  • Injection Sites: Inject under the skin in your abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate injection sites with each dose to avoid skin problems.
